Shawn Talbot

MFT/LPC Graduate Student Supervised by Chris Langley, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - Supervisor #201334

Shawn spearheaded Equine Therapy at Resolution Ranch beginning in 2011. He is certified in the EAGALA Model of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL). He has a bachelor's degree in Psychology, and is a member of the National School of Collegiate Scholars. He is currently working on a Master of Arts degree in Psychology.

A student’s horsemanship is never a factor in the level move-up process; it’s the growth and development that each individual experiences though the levels that’s most important. Things they learn like safety, communication, authenticity, all have to be applied with the horse.

Shawn’s horsemanship runs deep. He grew up breaking and training horses, as well as jockeying. Over the years, he’s trained horses for national events in Thoroughbred Racing, Harness Racing, and Reining Horses. Shawn is deeply committed to helping young men overcome their trials and rise to their full potential through Equine Therapy. He works very closely with the residents to help them get the most out of their experiences with the horses.
