Academics are very important to your teen's recovery process. Problems
in the classroom are usually indicative of problems elsewhere.
Bad grades lead to low self-esteem and teens with low self-esteem
often look to compensate by using drugs which leads to more bad
grades and lower self-esteem in a self-propelling cycle of destruction.
These
issues must be addressed if your teen is going to fully recover. By
making a commitment to academic success, your teen is making
a commitment to himself and gains the resolve to overcome challenges.
We
have a distinct advantage over traditional High Schools and
Junior Highs in that our students don't leave at the end of
the day. Our educational program extends beyond the classroom
so that "learning" doesn't stop at the sound of a
bell.
